Elementarteilchenphysik

Vorlesungsbeschreibung

The Course (given in English) is an introduction to Elementary Particle Physics. Focus is given to the experimental features, with phenomenological and theoretical considerations. After a cronological introduction, the building of the Standard Model of Particles and Interactions is described. The main chapters include

  • Quarks and leptons
  • Interactions and fields
  • Invariance principles and conservation laws
  • Quarks in hadrons
  • Lepton and quark scattering
  • Quark interactions and QCD
  • Weak interactions
  • Electroweak interactions and the Standard Model
  • Physics beyond the Standard Model

Exercise sessions complement the Lessons.
